...was
amazing.Friday morning my friends and I went to a Q&A with Christopher Sabat (English voice of Ayame Sohma, Roranoa Zoro, Kazuma Kuwabara, Vegeta, Piccolo, Kikuchiyo, Giroro, and Alex Louis Armstrong) and he was pretty hilarious, despite the jet-lag he'd suffered to reach Seattle on time. I was surprised how few people were actually at the panel (about 150) considering how awesome he is and how awesome his roles were. Later at his autograph session, I handed him my badge to sign and expressed my disappointment in not finding a single thing with an Armstrong on it at the convention. He signed the badge (Kevin- Over 9000! Chris *) and expressed his own disappointment that he couldn't bring his own merch to sell and sign.
Later, there was a Stereopony concert. Not my kinda music (rock, with a little j-pop and softcore metal tossed in) but they still sounded really good. The drummer was especially awesome, she would go into these really cool solos between songs that were crazy-fun to listen to.
Saturday was mostly spent meandering about the con, looking at cosplayers and browsing the merch hall/artist alley. We saw about 20 Soras, 12 Narutos, 3 Armstrongs (2 of which should not have been so), 6 Heavies and 4 Engineers from Team Fortress 2, 3 Hidans, a sexy Charizard and Amaterasu, 15 Links and 5 Zeldas and innumerable characters that I didn't recognize. I found a booth with some awesome videogame fanart, including
this and a groupshot of all the playable characters from Chrono Trigger (both of which I bought). I also found the
Hyrule Historia and went "ASDFGHJKL; MY SIS'LL LOVE THIS" but then "Oh damn, it's in Japanese -___-;" so instead I bought her some Fullmetal Alchemist artcards and a Sesshomaru keychain. I also met up with a friend at
LuvCherie Jewelry. Her stuff is well-made, well-priced, and well, awesome. Give 'er stuff a look-see!
That night was a concert by Kanon Wakeshima. Her music is kind of hard to describe, like French-Japanese? Ballad? Dance? Pop? All of the above, but no doubt
awesome.
Sunday, we were all approaching exhaustion, but went to a Q&A with Todd Haberkorn (AKA Natsu Dragneel, Raki, Ling Yao, Hikari Hitachiin, Kerero, Kimihiro Watanuki, Death the Kid, and ITALY). No regrets. He's funny and genuine and nice and you wouldn't believe the amount of fangirls who asked him to yell "PASTAAAAAA!" or give them a hug. There were so many people for the autograph session, they had to switch to speed-signing (name and nothing else) and it still took about an hour to get through to us.
All in all, I had a blast. Sign me up for next year.
